About the job DATA ARCHITECT

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Strategy & Design

Define the enterprise data architecture roadmap across data domains (operational, analytical, metadata, master, reference, unstructured). Design scalable, cloud-native data architecture aligned with business needs and digital transformation goals.

Select appropriate data storage technologies (e.g., Delta Lake, Data Lakehouse, SQL/NoSQL stores) based on use case. Data Platform Leadership

Lead the architecture for ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption across batch and real-time data pipelines.

Define standards and frameworks for metadata, data lineage, data quality, and cataloging.

Architect for interoperability across BI, AI/ML, and regulatory reporting workloads.

Governance & Security

Enforce data governance, privacy, and compliance standards in collaboration with the data governance team.

Implement security policies including data masking, encryption, access control, and audit logging Preferred Technical Expertise

Deep hands-on expertise in

Azure Data Services (Data Lake Gen2, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks)

Modern data lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Iceberg)

Big Data tools (Spark, Kafka, Hive)

Strong knowledge of data modeling (3NF, dimensional, data vault)

Familiarity with data cataloging and governance tools (Azure Purview, Collibra)

Proficiency in orchestration tools and schedulers (Airflow, Azure Data Factory pipelines Understanding of streaming pipelines using Kafka, Event Hub, or Databricks Structured Streaming

Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and data virtualization is a plus

Exposure to MLOps, feature stores, and AI data lifecycle is an advantage

Strong documentation, communication, and cross functional leadership skills.

Ability to mentor engineering teams and influence architectural decisions in a federated data environment.
