## Description
**Title: Backend Developer / Backend Engineer**

**Location: Remote**

**Technical requirements**

•	5+ years of backend development experience in production systems.

•	Strong proficiency in Python.

•	Strong experience building APIs and backend services.

•	Solid understanding of databases, schema design, query optimization, and transactional systems.

•	Experience with authentication, authorization, multi-user application logic, and secure backend development.

•	Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.

•	Familiarity with async workflows, job processing, queues, and background tasks.

•	Comfort using Cursor or similar AI coding tools as part of backend development.

•	Strong debugging skills, especially for production issues, edge cases, and reliability problems.

•	Experience with Git, code review workflows, and shipping production-quality code.

**What we want in this person**

•	Can own backend execution with minimal hand-holding.

•	Can write clean, maintainable code and make sound technical decisions.

•	Can move quickly inside an existing direction instead of over-engineering.

•	Uses AI tools to speed up implementation, but does not depend on them blindly.
Nice to have

•	Experience with FastAPI or similar Python backend frameworks.

•	Experience with PostgreSQL and production database operations.

•	Experience in SaaS or AI product environments.

•	Experience in startup teams where speed and ownership both matter
