Our AML Operations team looks after our global business and consists of a growing team of enthusiastic, energetic Lunauts. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other business units, including Customer Support, Onboarding, Engineering, Product and Legal teams, servicing the business on an international level together with the teams from Africa, Asia Pacific and Europe. **About the team:** The AML Operations team takes care of the operational aspects of financial crime risk identification matters for Luno's global business. Our mission is to create world-classss compliance experience for Luno as well as our customers. We make sure we have the processes and information available that enable us to truly understand our customer risk. We monitor for any external red flags customers may raise when they use Luno, and we deal with any questions our business or customers may have on what good looks like. We operate in regional teams around the world with our central team in South Africa. **Your mission will involve:** - Management and oversight of the Screening Team on all functional and people management aspects; - Managing and supervising Screening Team members, including: guiding execution of functional duties and as requiredbecomingme actively - involved in meeting schedules and resolving problems; - supporting personal development; - building relationships with and between team members, setting expectations, - - defining and delegating tasks and helping remove obstacles; - Managing team member onboarding and role-based training; - Conducts regular 1-1s with team members and raises performance matters with key stakeholders; - Maintain open lines of communication with team members, including on priorities, policy and processes; - Managing all aspects of customer screening and the outcomes thereof in respect of: - sanctions, adverse media and political exposure; private watch lists; - geolocation and geofencing; - perform a QA function and - any other AML risk identifiers and typologies as appropriate; - Management,fine-tuningg and reporting on screening rules, thresholds and outcomes; - Governance and reporting in respect of team performance, progress tracking, service level agreements, key risk indicators and operational metrics; - Oversight over the drafting and, where appropriate, filing of regulatory reports and responding to regulatory requests; - Establishing processes for review of and managing quality assurance; - Drafting and implementing standard operating procedures, including in respect of account closures, exits and the verification of customer accounts, and guidance to ensure compliance with regulations; - Coordination and management of senior management approvals; - Creating, implementing and managingrole-basedd training; - Collaborate with AML Operations Manager in developing, planning and managing the Screening Team’s operational plans and strategic goals, including in relation to Smart Goals; - Collaborating with the wider Anti-Financial Crime team to support ongoing investigations, queries and analytics; - Supporting the AML Operations Manager in the planning and oversight of day-to-day team tasks; - Working with the Compliance Advisory team to ensure that our operations are regulatory compliant and manage the implementation of new regulations or changes to existing regulations; - External and internal stakeholder management in conjunction with the AML Operations Manager and Head of Anti-Financial Crime; - Supporting external and internal compliance audits; - Supporting Luno’s compliance efforts across multiple geographies; and - Supporting the business with AML operations-related queries, including triaging received queries and resolving questions about Luno’s compliance procedures. **The ideal candidate will have:** - A degree or diploma from a recognised tertiary institution - A minimum of 5 years of work experience in an Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Terrorist Financing-related field - Strong analytical mindset - Ability to adapt within a fast-paced environment - Strong attention to detail and experience in process writing and documenting outcomes of reviews and investigations - High proficiency in English (please ensure that your application is in English) If not a South African citizen, an existing, valid permit to work in South Africa - Entrepreneurial, strong sense of responsibility and very high level of integrity Solid interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills - Friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed - Familiarity with cryptocurrencies will be highly advantageous **Life at Luno:** - Remote but reachable work policy gives you the freedom to choose between working from home or the office. - Plus the option to buy and sell up to 5 ddays'leave - Improve body and mind, with excellent private medical insurance - Access to Learnably and our additional learning platforms for your personal and professional development - 6 months primary caregiver leave - Paw-ternity leave for your furry friend - Annual Inspiration Day, in addition to your annual leave, which increases based on your length of service! - A collaborative, friendly work community, with regular social events and virtual cooking, dancing, drawing and house planting classes hosted by our Lunauts - Free lunch and snacks - 0 fees up to a certain amount with Luno from the day you start.* - Offer only available on Luno Instant Buy, not Luno Exchange We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
